Our Core Values: Non-negotiable Beliefs!
1. God’s Word: We value the Bible, God’s Word, as the final authority for all matters of faith and practice. (“…Your word is truth….” –John 17:17)
2. Prayer: We value prayer as our most valued resource, the avenue of intimate communion with our Heavenly Father. (“…pray without ceasing;” –1 Th. 5:17)
3. People: We value all people, created in God’s image but marred through sin. People recreated in Jesus Christ become God’s people on His mission in the world. People matter to God; therefore, people matter to us. (“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son….” –John 3:16)
4. Our Mission: We value our Mission—to faithfully follow Jesus Christ, and to lead others to follow Him—which is the benchmark of all we do. ("If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me;” –John 12:26; “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” –Matthew. 4:19)
5. Transformation: We value transformed lives because they bear credible evidence of God’s power at work in the lives of people. (“…be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what the will of God is….” –Romans 12:2)
6. Excellence: We value and strive for excellence, which honors God and inspires people. (“…that you may approve the things that are excellent in order to be sincere and blameless until the day of Christ.” –Philippians 1:10)
7. Spirit-led Innovation: We value the creative ways of God as the most effective ways to carry out His mission. (“See, I am doing a new thing….” –Isaiah 43:19)
8. Family: We value the family, God’s first institution and the foundation of society. (See Genesis 1:27; 2:20-25; Matthew 19:13ff. et al)
9. Worship: We value authentic worship that leads the disciple to love Christ and draws the seeker to Christ. (“…true worshipers…worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers.” –John 5:23)
10. Grace: We value God’s grace in its manifold expressions as His unconditional gift to us; we recognize our privilege and responsibility to exercise that grace in all expressions of our new life in Jesus Christ. (“For of His fullness we have all received, and grace upon grace….grace and truth were realized through Jesus Christ.” –John 1:16-17; “As each of you has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.” –1 Peter 4:10)
11. Unity: We value unity in the church as the product of the Spirit, and strive to preserve unity by peaceful relationships. (“…being diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.” –Ephesians 4:3)
12. Stewardship— “God owns it. I manage it.”: God is the owner of all things. We are God’s investment managers. (“…moreover, it is required of stewards that one be found trustworthy.” –1 Corinthians 4:2)

Imagine… By following Jesus, we become a Lighthouse of Hope to people adrift on Seas of Addiction, Brokenness, Helplessness, Homelessness, Hopelessness, Economic Depression, Meaninglessness, Lost-ness. . . . . We help Seafarers get to Home Port!
Imagine… A community of people who deeply love God, one another, and others! They are young and old, married and single. They are grace-givers, hope-inspirers, risk-takers, even dreamers. They serve together, play together, worship together, hurt together, laugh and cry together—they live life together. They believe life is an experience to be enjoyed together, journeying with Jesus “from here to eternity.” They are us, Port Royal Baptist Church!
